What is the Viking Bucks Rewards Program?
The Viking Bucks Rewards Program is a free incentive that we offer to our student customers. It allows you to earn points for every purchase that you make, both at the bookstore and online. You can redeem the points you've earned for merchandise in our online Rewards Catalog. Select the item or items you would like from the catalog, submit your order on the bookstore website, and we send it out to you. It's a great way to earn extra rewards for buying your textbooks and merchandise from our bookstore.

How do I earn Viking Bucks Rewards points?
Points are earned each time you make a purchase either online at bookstore.ocean.edu or in the College Bookstore on our Toms River campus. You earn 1 point for every dollar you spend. If you're shopping in our store, please be sure to give your cashier your student ID number and mention that you're a member of the Viking Bucks Rewards Program. You can also earn points by selling back your used textbooks during our book buyback. You earn 1 point for every $10 of your total buyback transaction.

Where can I see the Viking Bucks Rewards points I've earned?
To see how many points you've earned, simply log into your account at bookstore.ocean.edu and click on the "My Account" link from the lefthand menu. On this page you will see the "View Viking Bucks Information" link which will show you how many points you've earned, how many points you have available to redeem and how many points you have remaining.

How do I redeem my points?
Points are redeemed by visiting the bookstore website at bookstore.ocean.edu. Log into your account and click the "My Account" link from the lefthand menu. From this page, click the "View Viking Bucks Information" link. Underneath your point totals you will see the "I want to redeem my points" link, which directs you to the Rewards Catalog. Add the item or items you would like to your cart and submit your order. That's it!
Reward points must be redeemed online, and cannot be redeemed for cash. A shipping charge may apply to your order.

I just made a purchase but I don't see any points. Where are my points?
Points that are earned are not immediately applied to your account. Points earned on in-store transactions can take up to 2 business days to post to your account. Points for online purchases are applied once the order is packed and ready to be shipped (or picked up at the bookstore in the case of Financial Aid customers).

I have points, but the website says that I have no points available to redeem. Why?
Points become available for redemption 30 days after they are earned and applied to your account. You may only redeem points that are available.

Do Viking Bucks Rewards points ever expire?
Yes, Viking Bucks Rewards points will expire two years from the date they were earned. This gives you plenty of time to save up points for the items in our Rewards Catalog that you want the most.
